human appearance:
Elias is mostly wires and wool. How worn the wool or frayed the wires varies from day to day. Blond and graying, he runs thin and hunched under stress, broad and proud in his best moods. Generally, he appears to be 40-something and neatly over 5.5 feet, but not quite 6.

The job pays, but not extravagantly. Elias dress fussy, fastidious, and a few years behind the latest fashion. He wears his outfits down, taking them for fittings and repairs when necessary. He wears two layers minimum at any given moment, even in summer heat. At a glance, he looks every inch the mindful boss he attests to being.

personality:
In recent years, he's cultivated an image of himself as discerning and disciplined man, the kind of person that can get it done, if it's really important to you--just convince him. Primarily, this attitude serves his reputation and his bank of favors owed him by people who needed help in the past. He has a powerful sense of self-preservation and a deep respect for his patron, such that he'd like to be the very best acolyte he can possibly be. All his schemes and strategies and secrets pursue the singular goal of feeding the Ceaseless Watcher. He is exceedingly proud of his work and the gifts it's earned him.

To say that he keeps friends would be...well, that would be something. Elias collects information and deals it out as necessary, carefully isolating people that he finds useful or interesting. He'll remember everything you tell him and "intuit" a few things to give the sense that he cares very much, but he doesn't draw from a deep well of affection.

His shrewd tactics lend an antagonistic quality to most everything he does, even in mild interactions. To the passing glance, Elias reads aloof at best, haughty at worst. To anyone who looks long enough or who has to suffer the trial of working with him--or against him--overtures of civility are embarrassingly transparent. He wears them like a cheap mask on Halloween, gleefully and playfully and impatient to get rid of them and show his teeth.

beholding abilities:
- approximate knowledge of most things: the ability to pull anything he wants to know out of the air, limited to the fact that he needs to be focus on doing so. this takes a bit out of him, but he's gotten very good at it--up to reading minds, to the extent that the thought is at the surface of someone's mind and he has enough social space to spend a few seconds fishing for it.
- inception: winkwonk the ability to plant knowledge into someone else's head, including immersive sensory information relevant to all five senses and whichever sixth one monitors vibes
- vampire body: he heals pretty good. self-inflicted wounds don't take much time at all to heal. others take longer, but he's hardly at risk of incapacitation short of something extreme.
- method: I'm playing Elias as having access to omniscience, but being far from omniscient himself. Dipping into the Beholding is work for him, some tasks easier and some harder. Multitasking makes things difficult. Having accessed it a lot in a short amount of time makes things difficult. If he doesn't care, he won't bother. He doesn't know everything about your character, and he probably won't do a deep dive unless they really start to rankle him, MARTIN.
